This is an exciting position at the heart of one of the most innovative and promising public organisations in the world today. It offers a unique structure and team to help develop and pursue large scale social change efforts.

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Facilitate the creation of a brand book and Avaaz "voice" on social media
  • Supporting the head of social media to manage the team 
  • Designing and developing campaign impact strategies that can be delivered via social media channels
  • Providing, compelling and engaging content (text, image and video) for Avaaz social media campaigns 
  • Manage Avaaz ads campaigns 
  • Spotting social media opportunities for campaigns Avaaz should surge and crowd-sourcing ideas from our supporters

 

Required 

  • Professional experience in social media storytelling role or community management
  • Deep understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social networking platforms
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and shifting requests and timelines
  • Strong abilities to understand and report back ads metrics
  • Native level English with one additional language (ideally Spanish, French or German) 
  • Excellent writing skills with ability to distill political or campaigning stories into short, compelling copy for a digital audience
  • Familiarity with creating and launching geo-targeted and paid social media campaigns.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively and effectively with staff and Avaaz members
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

 

Appreciated

  • Fluency in some commonly used editing tools such as Final cut, Photoshop, premiere pro
  • Experience working in international environment and/or NGOs
  • Interest on wide range of topics such as climate change, disinformation, biodiversity, social justice
